Induction Ceremony for New Members
Following a service of Morning Prayer or Evening Prayer, or before Mass, the Chaplain shall invite new members to come forward to the steps of the chancel.
Chaplain: What dost thou desire?
Inductee: I desire to be admitted to the Anglican Use Society as a (Regular/Associate) Member.
Chaplain:
The purpose of the Anglican Use Society is to promote the usage of the liturgical practices contained in The Book of Divine Worship and evangelical outreach to members of the Anglican Communion seeking union with the Roman Catholic Church as provided in the special pastoral provision for the Anglican Use.
All members are urged to pray daily using prayers from The Book of Divine Worship for the Pope, for the Ecclesiastical Delegate, for their Local Bishop, and for all Anglican Use clergy and laity, living and departed. Art thou willing to do this?
Inductee: I am.
Chaplain: May the Lord add His blessing to thy intention.
Then the Chaplain shall give the Canterbury Cross, the Emblem of the Society to the new member or shake his hand, saying,
I admit you as a member of the Anglican Use Society. Be diligent in your support of the Catholic Church in prayer and good works. Amen.
Then the Chaplain may give his blessing.
